work (Click on images to enlarge) Due to clients requests for continuity of work and the requirement of high quality workmanship throughout, Cape Stone are now providing a full building service. We will undertake and manage all aspects of a project from installing the correct substrates for accepting stone; the supply installation and connection of under-tile heating, right through to full refurbishment projects involving carpentry, electrics, plumbing, brick-work, glazing, and decorating. We use only the very best of trade professionals to carry out the works.Cape Stone undertakes the removal of existing unsuitable substrates (if required!) and the installation of the correct system according to the particular project, following regulations laid out by the Stone Federation of Great Britain Code of Practice. Substrates are one of the most important parts of any project where natural stone is to be installed. This cannot be ignored. A substantial amount of the calls we get involve incorrect or poorly laid substrates resulting in cracked or discoloured stone. Cape Stone offers a consultation service which involves a site survey and results in a written report detailing the origin of specific problems. Systems often required and laid by Cape Stone are; Cross laid WBP Ply, Schluter Ditra Matting, Wedi Tile-Backer Board, Warm-Up Under-Floor Heating & Bal WP1 Tanking System (for bathrooms & wet areas).
Typical example of large marble floor panels being installed on cross laid ply covered with Schluter Ditra Matting. Warm-Up under-floor heating then covers the matting with a screed for protection of the wires.
